Moon in Leo

The new raised bed is finished and you can see how it fits next to the patio.

Here is the vantage from another angle.

Husband and I moved the whiskey barrels by sliding them on rails made by tree stake poles.

Here is a pretty cool vantage point. Next will be filling the bed in with black dirt. Right now there are a half-dozen Mexican Primrose in the center of the bed. They need to be relocated but not today when the Moon is in Leo, considered barren and dry and there is to be no planting. But it is a time to harvest, cultivate, control pests and weeds, and build raised beds!
Thanks for visiting! To all of my gardening friends, carry on and hurry back!

  1. There's nothing like creating a new bed for plants. All those possiblities! What will you be planting in your new space?

  2. How long will the moon be in Leo, just out of curiosity? (We're supposed to plant peas and mustards starting on the first of the month in this climate.)

  3. Can't wait to see how your new raised bed will look.

  4. Thanks for visiting! I have spinach, tatsoi, bok choi, kale, and parsley waiting to get planted into the new bed. The moon will be in Leo for just about 2 days, it is in a particular sign for about 2 +- days, then it moves into "void of course" until it enters a new sign. Void of course is also a time when no planting is recommended. The moon will cycle back to a water sign(fire, earth, air, water) which is the best time to plant.
